  • Mr. Starr grew up in Longview, Texas, graduating from Longview High School in 1982. He is the son of Nancy Ogletree Starr and the Honorable Larry W. Starr, retired Associate Justice of the Texarkana Court of Appeals and retired State District Judge of the 188th District Court, Gregg County, Texas.
  • Mr. Starr’s law practice began in Tyler, Texas, in 1990 with the firm of Potter Minton P.C. In 1999 he began the law firm which ultimately became Starr and Starr, P.C. He joined Coghlan Crowson, LLP as a litigation partner in February, 2008.

  • Mr. Starr is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and a charter fellow of the Smith County Bar Foundation.  He represents individuals, small businesses, and national corporate clients in lawsuits and trials in state and federal courts all over the Northeast Texas area.  His areas of practice include civil trials and appeals in consumer, commercial, construction defect, insurance, premises liability, probate and trust, professional liability, personal injury and property damage cases.  He has tried over 120 cases to jury verdicts in the courts of most of the forty counties of Northeast Texas and handled appeals in six of the fourteen Texas Courts of Appeals, the Texas Supreme Court and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.  He has filed and responded to Petitions for Writ of Certiorari in the United States Supreme Court.
